VUE Audiotechnik Debuts Three Product Classes at InfoComm 2012

Las Vegas, NV, June 2012 – VUE Audiotechnik will premiere three powerful loudspeaker families at this week’s InfoComm convention in Las Vegas. This will be the first official product unveiling since the company’s founding earlier this year.

Addressing a broad range of applications with advanced technologies, innovative designs, and class-leading performance, VUE Audiotechnik’s h, a and i-Class systems incorporate purpose-designed transducers, enclosures, and system electronics to deliver exceptional results for their respective market segments.

Highlights include:

  • H Class family with Truextent™ beryllium HF compression drivers: Better high-frequency performance than aluminum or titanium
  • Active Compliance Management™ (ACM): A patent-pending subwoofer technology combining sophisticated DSP with a hybrid enclosure for exceptional definition and output
  • Purpose-designed components: Fully optimized for every driver/cabinet combination across all three classes.
  • Network monitoring: Via standard Ethernet protocols and accessible through an intuitive software interface.
  • I Class for AV contractors: Professional-grade components, wood enclosures and included hanging hardware

Ken Berger, CEO of VUE Audiotechnik comments, “We’ve worked hard to ensure that each of our classes brings something truly unique to their respective markets — from cutting edge technologies and innovative designs in the flagship H Class, to a very compelling price/performance equation in our I Class systems.”

“But this is just the beginning,” continued Berger. “The technologies revealed today will join others in development, and all three classes will expand significantly over the next 24 months. It’s really quite exciting to debut this first wave at InfoComm and to underscore our commitment to serving the industry we value so highly.”

H Class: Performance without Compromise

VUE Audiotechnik imbues the flagship h-Class with its most advanced technologies and innovative designs.

At the heart of every h-Class full-range system is VUE’s proprietary, beryllium-based compression driver. Beryllium delivers better sonic performance than both aluminum and titanium thanks to an extremely high stiffness-to-mass ratio, which dramatically reduces mechanical deformation (breakup), and shifts resonant frequencies above the audible range.

Each beryllium HF transducer is paired with an equally advanced LF counterpart. To increase power handling and decrease power compression, all transducers deployed in full-range h-Class systems feature a large, 100 mm/4-inch voice coil.

Active onboard electronics include system-optimized amplification and DSP for each driver and cabinet combination. Network control and monitoring capabilities are available via standard Ethernet-based protocols and accessible through an intuitive software interface.

All h-Class enclosures are manufactured using multi-ply, cross-grain laminated birch with extensive interior bracing and a rugged polyurethane finish. Full-range models include integrated hanging points, while h-12 models also include a pole-mount system for use with stands or atop subwoofers.

HS-28 Subwoofer with ACM Technology (click for full size)

At launch, the h-Class includes 12- and 15-inch two-way models (wide and narrow coverage) as well as the hs-28 subwoofer, a dual 18-inch active design that debuts VUE Audiotechnik’s patent pending Active Compliance Management (ACM) technology.

ACM technology utilizes a unique hybrid configuration in which two 18-inch woofers share a common vented chamber. One woofer’s frontal radiation is direct, while the second woofer is set at 90 degrees and drives a second vented chamber that has fourth-order response characteristics. Each woofer has its own amplifier and DSP control. This sophisticated combination of physics and DSP yields a substantial increase in amplitude over conventional designs, with the summed output of drivers and vents maintaining flat phase response and exhibiting low distortion, while occupying a more compact enclosure.

A Class: Applied Engineering, Precision Performance

The a-Class is designed specifically for working professionals seeking a better balance of performance, versatility, and value. Benefiting from the same design principles behind the flagship h-Class, the versatile a-Class models possess similar voicing characteristics, allowing them to easily outperform their competition in this segment.

L to R: a-15, a-12, a-10, a-8 (click for full size)

At launch, the a-Class range includes passive systems in 8-, 10-, 12-, and 15-inch two-way configurations, as well as a selection of three powerful subwoofers. And as with the flagship H Class, all a-Class transducers and enclosures are manufactured to VUE Audiotechnik’s exacting specifications to work in synchronous harmony for exceptional performance.

Every a-Class two-way model combines a neodymium LF transducer, neodymium compression driver, and a system-optimized, high-order crossover to deliver a smooth and accurate frequency response at maximum SPLs. Each compression driver is mounted to a 70 x 55 degree horn that can be rotated for ideal dispersion in either horizontal or vertical configurations. The larger A-12 and A-15 models will operate in either passive (single amped) or bi-amped modes via a simple, high current switch located on the rear panel.

as-418 Subwoofer (click for full size)

The a-Class subwoofer family is led by the formidable as-418, which combines four 18-inch drivers into a dual-isobaric design to deliver higher output, lower distortion, and lower power compression — all from an enclosure the size of most dual 18-inch subwoofers.

a-Class cabinets are manufactured to the same standards as the flagship a-Class, using multi-ply, cross-grain laminated birch with extensive interior bracing and a rugged polyurethane finish. Full-range models feature a unique pentagon shape for easy use in either monitor or FOH orientations. Integrated hanging points provide flexible flying options, while a pole-mount system allows for portable use on stands or atop subwoofers.

I Class: Step Away from the Plastic Boxes

VUE Audiotechnik’s i-Class offers AV Contractors a high-performance alternative to the bevy of plastic-boxed systems available today.

Addressing a broad range of applications while delivering sonic performance that far exceeds expectations in this segment, i-Class models benefit from professional-grade components and the same manufacturing processes behind all VUE Audiotechnik systems. As a result, every model in the line features purpose-built transducers, rugged wood enclosures and most importantly, VUE Audiotechnik’s unwavering attention to detail and quality.

L to R: i-2 x 4.5, i-4.5, i-6, i-8, is-26 Sub (click for full size)

At launch, the i-Class range includes surface-mount, full-range systems as well as three powered and passive subwoofer options — allowing contractors and system designers to address applications ranging from compact PA to ancillary fill in larger distributed systems.

i-Class wood enclosures are protected with a rugged industrial-grade coating, and every full-range model ships with integrated surface mounting hardware right in the box.
