Live sound engineers should also plan to attend an Event Safety Alliance and PLSN/FOH panel discussion co-hosted by VUE’s Shawn London and Jim Digby, former Linkn Park tour manager, on the topic of live event safety. Shawn has the unenviable distinction of having been witness to the violent terrorist attack while mixing Eagles of Death Metal at the Batalclan nightclub in Paris. The panel will be held at 1:45 on Thursday, January 24th at the Hilton Level 4, Room A5.

Want to learn how to design and use line array systems as well as experience the unique capabilities of VUE’s al-Class Acoustic Linearity scalable line arrays? If so, join VUE Audiotechnik for comprehensive operational instruction and hands-on training on the al-Class Acoustic Linearity Line Array. Designed from a systems-engineering perspective, this 2-part, 5-hour, comprehensive program consists of three hours of classroom sound system and software modeling combined with two hours of hands-on array rigging and listening session. The training will be applicable for both field-deployable, tour-class system packages and permanent systems for use in performance-venue installations.
Classroom: a 3-hour morning session covering technical descriptions, functionality, deployment of the al-class line array systems and subwoofers, SystemVUE software and EASE Focus 3 prediction software. Instructors: Greg Kirkland, Tony Sawyer, and Shawn London.
Hand’s On Training: As an extension of the classroom training, attendees will learn first-hand how to rig, tune (using an EASE Focus prediction report) and deploy both a flown and ground-stacked hybrid al-12/al-8/al-4 VUE al-class line array systems. Instructor: Greg Kirkland, Tony Sawyer and Shawn London.

After all, our industry is already saturated with acronym-infused marketing babble from a litany of well-aged, “we’ve always done it this way” loudspeaker companies. SoundGirls Presents NAMM Mentoring Session
VUE’s Sara Elliott will be part of a Mentoring Session with Women Leaders in Professional Audio, Thursday, January 24th, 6:30 – 10:00 pm.
This event will be a casual mentoring session – where you can get advice and answers to your questions. Groups will rotate between leaders specializing in Live Sound, Recording and Mastering, Broadcast Engineering and Professional Audio Sales.
