VUE-Be-4inch-with-Diaphragm-new-logo-colorAt the heart of every h-Class full range system is VUE’s proprietary compression driver with a pure Truextent beryllium diaphragm. Beryllium delivers better sonic performance than more conventional materials. Each beryllium compression driver is paired with an equally advanced LF transducer. To increase power handling and decrease power compression, all transducers deployed in the h-Class full-range models benefit from large voice coils and massive magnet assemblies. All h-Class systems contain the same DSP hardware and software, along with factory firmware configurations for a variety of applications and combinations. Network control and monitoring capabilities are available via standard Ethernet-based protocols and accessible through an intuitive SystemVUE software.

ACM Subwoofer Technology

Active Compliance Management (ACM) Patent Pending

ACM is a unique hybrid design that combines the attributes of direct radiating and band-pass configurations to reduce distortion and increase sound pressure output while decreasing box size.

ACM technology utilizes a unique hybrid configuration in which two 18-inch woofers share a common vented chamber. One woofer’s frontal radiation is direct, while the second woofer is set at 90 degrees and drives a second vented chamber that has fourth-order response characteristics. Each woofer has its own amplifier and DSP control. This sophisticated combination of physics and DSP yields a substantial increase in amplitude over conventional designs, with the summed output of drivers and vents maintaining flat phase response and exhibiting low distortion, while occupying a more compact enclosure.

h-Class full range systems and al-Class line arrays all employ VUE-designed compression drivers that feature a Truextent® beryllium diaphragm at their core. Beryllium outperforms both aluminum and titanium thanks to an extremely high stiffness-to-mass ratio, which dramatically reduces mechanical deformation (breakup) and shifts resonant frequencies outside the audible range. The net result is a more defined HF at much higher SPLs than more conventional materials.

Lower Mass Equals Greater Acceleration

AccelerationBeryllium has the lowest density-to-mass ratio of any metal used for compression driver diaphragms. Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. Density measures mass per unit volume.
